Wine
Our journey began in the fall of 2017, when we purchased the property here in the beautiful Rogue Valley and celebrated our very first harvest of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir grapes. Since then, we’ve expanded the vineyard by planting an additional five acres of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinotage, and Chenin Blanc, with our first harvest from those vines coming in 2021.
A visit to family in South Africa inspired Judy to introduce the South African varietals Pinotage and Chenin Blanc — unique grapes in this region that now produce wonderfully distinctive wines. Most recently, we planted a block of Malbec to continue diversifying our offerings.
Our wines are crafted by both Linda Donovan of Pallet Wine Company and Chris Graves of Naumes Crush and Fermentation. Their expertise and mentorship have guided us as we’ve learned the art and science of turning our grapes into Dos Mariposas wines. As our vines mature, we’re excited to continue growing and experimenting — from vibrant rosés to creative blends that reflect both our curiosity and the spirit of this place we call home.
Hard Cider
When our apple and pear trees produced their first mature fruit during our first fall on the property, we quickly realized we had far more than we could ever use ourselves. At the time, our tasting room and farm stand weren’t yet complete, so our options for sharing the fruit were limited.
Fortunately, we connected with Chris Graves, winemaker at Naumes, just as he and his team were beginning to experiment with cider-making. Our small harvest turned out to be the perfect size for testing their new equipment, and together we decided to create an apple–pear blend — a decision that proved to be a delicious one!
We’ve continued to produce small-batch, estate hard cider ever since, offering it in our tasting room each season. It’s become a favorite on warm summer days!

Where To Get Dos Mariposas Wine & Cider
Our wines and hard cider are available for purchase in our tasting room. We offer several wine flights in addition to wine and cider by the glass and bottle purchases. Over the next few months, we will be working on our online marketplace to allow those who live a bit further away to purchase wine as well. Dos Mariposas wine can also be found in the Urban Cork tasting room for sale by the glass or bottle.
